See the award winning documentary film that is sparking a national grassroots broadcast media reform movement! (scroll down for trailer)
This 2009 documentary sounded the alarm about purposeful misinformation and its negative effect on our Democracy. Truly prescient as now seen through the lens of the Trump presidency, Broadcast Blues not only educates us as to why Fake News rules, but encourages people to ACT!Media Policy - laws and rules which act to the detriment of We the People - is the real problem. Terrible media policy is killing people in this country. Literally. And it is killing our democracy, too. Corporate financed lawmakers have stacked the media policy deck against We the People.
Until now. We the People are Taking the Media Back!
Learn your rights as the owners of our public airwaves by watching Broadcast Blues and reading SueWilsonReports.com.
Then take real action at Media Action Center, which in 2017 cost Entercom $13.5 million by stripping its license to broadcast in Sacramento.
The film is still available in high quality DVDs. Get your personally signed Director's cut of BroadcastBlues below to help fund our work.

ReplyDeleteYou really are one affable rogue! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLook for a new group to form soon: Merry Media Mischief Makers. "M4" !! :) ~Sue
I have a few suggestions for web shows/podcasts that should know about Broadcast Blues:
ReplyDeleteThe Young Turks: http://www.youtube.com/theyoungturks
Citizen Radio: http://wearecitizenradio.com/
ReThink Reviews: http://rethinkreviews.net/
(ReThink Documentaries)

I tried to leave a comment, also to find the UU church in Ft. Myers after hearing you on SoundOffOnSasha on WGCU in Ft. Myers FL, but none of the links worked. In fact, this Leave Your Comment would not allow me to sign in, so I lost my original letter.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to let your followers know about NPR under attack, call your senators at 202-224-3121, let them know that it is false that cutting funds to NPR will reduce the budget It does not save the government money, not even one cent, just disallows NPR to get funds from the General fund! And, you need to let your Senators know NOW that s.493, the Small Business Act Authorization before them has 3 amendments filed by Coburn, DeMint and Paul that would eliminate funding for public broadcasting! I told my senators I am watching how they vote. If they defund NPR and PBS, I will track down their campaign contributors and boycott their products! This has been done successfully with advertisers on FOX and I am doing it with Govs Wilson and Scott funders Koch Brother products Brawny and Sparkle paper towels, Great Northern and Angel Soft toilet paper, Dixie Cup paper products, anything by Georgia Pacific, Lycra and Stainmaster. Many of my groups will take this up as well. hit them in their pocketbook hearts.
Look forward to seeing you at UU in Ft Myers. Is it Sunday Apr 3 or Tues Apr 5 as you said on air
I saw Broadcast Blues film on RTTV last night - an RT Documentary.
ReplyDeleteVery impressive & perhaps of more import now than when it was made.
I saw part of the film some years back & I've met people associated & I know the issues it raises.
So I'll pass record of this site to community activists I know in Tampere Finland & with a similar record of RT item screening your film showing at least one other site for a radio station erected in protest if memory serves.
Faulty memory or not, I think RT "rounded" film off well & with some extra items (introduced it well anyway...
And so I also enclose in handy ref with my comment to you copied to ravenwyn@gmail.com in Tampere...

Thanks! RT does occasionally run a 50 minute version of the original 75 minute Director's Cut. My cut is longer but much more fun to watch, as it includes Naomi Judd, and an interview/animation with Phil Donahue featuring big name musicians you don't want to miss!
ReplyDeleteFirst off I would like to say terrific blog!
ReplyDeleteI had a quick question that I'd like to ask if you do not mind.
I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing.
I have had a tough time clearing my mind in getting
my ideas out there. I truly do take pleasure in writing however
it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are wasted just trying to figure out how to begin.
Any recommendations or hints? Cheers!

Thanks for your kind words!
ReplyDeleteI write when I can't not write, when I have something I just have to say. So I am always very clear on the message.
Then I try to come up with some clever theme (I often fail at this,) and next rewrite, rewrite, rewrite. Most of my pieces take me about three days (which is also why I am late commenting on breaking news.) But I would rather get it right than get it first.
